Tackling Minds is a pioneering non-profit charity that uses fishing as therapy to support mental health. Founded in early 2020 by David Lyons, it caters to diverse needs, from mental health issues to social deprivation with research with Angling Direct and Anglia Ruskin University showing that fishing has a measurable benefit on a range of mental and physical health conditions.
“I am profoundly grateful and honoured that The Game Fair has selected Tackling Minds and The Country Food Trust as their charities of choice for this prestigious event. This collaboration presents an incredible opportunity not only to showcase the impactful work both our organisations are doing but also to deepen our engagement with the community. We are enthusiastic about working closely with The Game Fair and The Country Food Trust, and we believe that this event will be a fantastic platform to raise awareness about our causes. It’s a privilege to be part of an event that not only celebrates our shared passions but also contributes significantly to the betterment of society,” said Tackling Minds Founder, David Lyons.
The event, which returns to Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, attracts over 125,000 visitors over three days and features everything from fishing, fantastic food and family activities to shooting, shopping and glamping.
James Gower, Managing Director of Stable Events who organise the event adds, “Joining forces with The Country Food Trust and Tackling Minds made sense to us as The Game Fair attracts a huge range of people who are passionate about countryside issues and supporting associated charities.
